The bookshelf is very sturdy and looks great. Directions were excellent step by step. The back comes folded in thirds lengthwise and is very cheap and cardboard like. This was probably done so it would fit in the box. The doors do not meet in the center and have a 1/4 in gap between them. The depth of the sides is 12 in and not 18in which we were very happy about but had to call customer service before ordering to verify it. For the price, we were happy with it but worry that you could poke a hole in the back if not careful.
