I use this off and on and it does the trick. For a portable unit it’s fairly stable but there is a bit of shaking as I type. It has two levels, so it is not entirely customizable. I’m 6′ and the top level is almost exactly where I need it.
Overall the unit is pretty well made and the spring is the right strength as I can raise/lower the unit with a monitor/keyboard on it fairly easily. There is some resistance. Perhaps some lubrication will help.
When compacted, there is about 2.5″ of height, so it’s not really usable for me when compacted. I take it off the desk when not in use. It’s a bit heavy but manageable.
Final assessment. I’m keeping it. It’s great for when I want to stand and work. Just wide enough for keyboard and mouse and not nearly as flimsy like some I have used in the past. Not perfect and perhaps a bit over priced for what you get, but the price holds up compared to other units and it fits in a tight place.
