I used this to make a puzzle board. I bought some sort of plastic trim (I don’t know what it is for but it was near this, $5 for 8 ft). There was a slot that slid over the edge of the board and a lip that sticks up to prevent pieces from falling off. I glued it on. So for $13 I have a solid, lightweight, easy to move and store, DIY puzzle board.

I alwayshad 91489-29518 which has a better white side. This current brand is using a cheaper thicker wood, the white starts cracking and peeling very easily. I just bought 10 and used one before I noticed the brand change. I am returning 9 of them back and looking for the original one you had before this. I definitely would not recomment the dry-erase board they have currently in stock unless it is the model i have written above

Before we could get it inside the house, several drops of rain hit it on the dry erase side. It didn’t get soaked or anything like that, just a few drops. And everywhere the water hit it, it swelled up and the surface had tiny cracks in it. It didn’t really affect the way we used it, but it definitely told me I don’t want it for an actual dry erase board. Very poor quality.

Decent quality dry erase board for about $10 bucks. This is not the bad board others have mentioned in the reviews, sure if you want a perfect board then got get a real one. But if you’re looking at Lowe’s for a budget option then you probably don’t need a super nice one anyway. I’m happy with the purchase and would buy another in the future. It would be nice if they had a bigger option available. But this size works for most applications

I bought 2 boards, both were chipped on the side and part of the face of the boards, it was OK for my purposes bc I needed them right away, but in the future I might buy framed boards which are usually in better condition.

Great for my artwork!! I have limited space for my larger watercolor work and these are fantastic! I can move them on and off my table easel as I switch paintings to work on!

We purchased 30+ pieces of this from 4 different stores and only 2 of them, were in good condition, the rest were damaged in some form or fashion.

Bbought this to make two 17 x 8 in shelves for end table. “The guy” cut them perfectly. It is smooth white surface. Did not have to worry about wood that I would have to had sanded and protected. Also, very thin and strong. Granted I would not place lots of weight on it, but perfect for notebooks, glasses, magnifying glass, cosmetic bag, etc., and the price was right

This was a wonderful purchase for my business ideas. It feels quite sturdy.

I tested a small area with 2 different black dry erase markers and they came off just fine. But will test it again with leaving the marker on longer. I hung it up on the wall using several tacks on the bottom and a couple of the top. That’s it. It’s light enough that it doesn’t warrant anything else so don’t stress about attaching it to a wall. I may buy another one and place it right next to this one to make a bigger whiteboard.

The only issues I had were the cracks on 2 corners of the board. This was to be expected since I read other reviews that stated it was hard to find a perfect board. I taped the ends to make sure the cracks don’t grow.

I have not tried the chalk board yet.

Overall, I think this is a GREAT buy for the money.

Perfect for what I needed/wanted. It did what I required and looked good doing it at a fraction of the cost if I had made my own.

I bought these last week for my son’s food truck to write his menu items on them. They lasted one day in front of his truck. The white board was a piece of plastic that peeled off the boards after one day in the sun and humidity.

When customizing my powder room vanity to eliminate the dead corners, I was planning to use some drywall to give it a more built-in look, but there were no small pieces in stock. I couldn’t justify purchasing a full 4×12 sheet for what I needed (and it wouldn’t fit in my car) so I found this and it worked better than I expected. I cut it to size, tacked it to the wood frame I had in place (chalkboard side out), and used scribes on the seams as finishing touches. It can be sealed and painted and since this really won’t be getting wet at all, it’s a good solution for a good price.

My husband was working on finishing up his dresser that we bought 2nd hand and was missing sliding doors on the top. We believe it initially had glass doors as it appears to be a hutch, but he liked using it for stuff in the bedroom and he didn’t want glass. He was originally going to go with a thin board and when I recommended painting one side as a chalkboard, he loved the idea. So off he went to buy the chalk paint. While browsing he saw this board where one side was a dry erase board and the other side was a chalkboard. He called, we talked and he went with this board instead of the chalk paint. It’s all installed (it cut very easily, no problem on the table saw – he was afraid the dry erase side would make it difficult to cut, but it was fine) and he went with both sides as chalkboards, vice putting one side of the dry erase board up. He didn’t want to buy the markers and eraser since we already had chalk and a chalkboard eraser. He really likes it and we can leave each other notes if needed, however, he likes to write cute sayings or bible verses. I like it too!

You get what you pay for. It’s inexpensive. However, if you are planning on actually using it with dry-erase or wet-erase markers, beware that they do not easily or cleanly erase. Perhaps if you’re just using it as a puzzle board or something else, it may be excellent.

Used five of these to create a 5′ x 6′ dry erase (DE) whiteboard surface on a frame “backer” made of 2″x3″ lumber (not the Top Choice style but the basic furring strip style; choose your lumber carefully and pick the straightest boards). I drilled holes into each DE board and used “AP Products AP Products 1103.1095 0.75 in. No. 8 White Hex Washer Head Screws- Pack of 50” to attach each DE board the frame. Picture the right side of the frame holding 3 pcs of 2’x3′ DE boards in landscape format and the left side of the frame holding 2 pcs of 2’x3′ DE boards in portrait format, each abutted to one another. The DE boards I had to choose from at my local were all in good shape, however, you do have to be careful when handling the product–from purchase thru drilling to installation– to insure you don’t chip the edges. After assembly I cleaned the boards with dry erase cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Then I used Turtle Wax (the green car wax; follow the product’s instructions) to wax and polish the surface. Use the product applicator (round yellow sponge) to wax the DE boards and use a clean microfiber towel to remove the wax and polish the surface. Don’t over-do the wax; a light coat will do. Dry erase markers go on evenly and erase off without leaving any residue when using yet another clean microfiber cloth. I don’t have a history with this product as a dry erase board and I expect to re-wax the surface as needed. Overall, I’m happy with this product. It allowed me to create a very large, customized dry erase surface for my office.

Aside from not being magnetic, which I knew prior to purchase, dry erase markers leave smudges and don’t erase cleanly. And if you use wet erase markers, don’t leave them on too long or they will become permanent markers! Buyer beware.

The markerboard is fine and works for what I purchased it for. It needs to be wiped down with a cleaner after use, which is common for marker boards I have purchased and used in the past.

However, this markerboard (and the 19 others bought at the same time) have a UPC sticker on them, which are extremely hard to remove. I have to use a plastic scraper to get most of the paper off and then use a strong solvent, like Goo Gone to remove the residue. The product is serviceable and reasonably priced, but I wouldn’t buy them again knowing the work it’s taking to be able to use the product for its intended purpose due to the UPC sticker.

Either everyone reviewing is blind or the stock of this item at my (it’s the same SKU, I checked) is waaaay different from what other people have bought.

People, it’s cheap, flimsy, chip-prone, warped particle board… That’s painted white on one side and black on the other.

You can write on the white surface with Expo dry erase markers, but you can’t erase it. You can’t write on the black surface with chalk so there’s no need to erase it.

Both the white and the black paint coats are so thin that you scrape it off just by breathing wrong.

To add insult to injury, clearly considers this a construction material, not an interior surface, as it’s binned in the warehouse along with unfinished plywood and fibreglass insulation, meaning that in fifty sheets virtually all of them are scratched up and chipped off so badly they basically need to be refinished anyway.

You’ll spend an hour going through them trying to find one with good surfaces. Hint: don’t bother. It doesn’t work, for chalk or dry erase.

If you need thin, flimsy MDF pre-painted white on one side and black on the other, great! This product is for you (if you can find an intact piece). If you need a whiteboard or a chalkboard?

You’d better buy a whiteboard or a chalkboard. The emperor has no clothes on.
